Prunus angustifolia, known as Chickasaw plum, Cherokee plum, Florida sand plum, sandhill plum, or sand plum, is a North American species of plum-bearing tree. Native Americans originally cultivated it before the arrival of Europeans. The species name Angustifolia refers to its narrow leaves. It became the official state fruit of Kansas in 2022.

Chickasaw plum can grow up to 20 ft tall and 20 ft wide. It is “twiggy” in nature and has scaly, almost black bark. Its branches are reddish with thorn-like, small side branches. Small white flowers have five white petals with reddish and orange anthers in February, March, April, and May. Plums are cherry-like and tend to be quite tart until fully ripe.
