Melaleuca citrina, commonly known as the common red bottlebrush, crimson bottlebrush, or lemon bottlebrush, is a plant in the family Myrtaceae. It can live up to approximately ten years and grow up to 20 feet tall.

An evergreen shrub native to Australia and South Wales, it is cultivated for its distinctive yellow or red bottlebrush-like flower clusters​​. When crushed, its leaves emit a citrus-like fragrance, and they contain oils that release this pleasant aroma, especially on warm summer evenings​​.

It has a hard, fibrous, or papery bark, and its young growth is usually covered with soft, silky hairs. Its leaves are arranged alternately; they are wide, hard, flat, narrow, and egg-shaped, with a narrower end near the base and a pointed but not sharp end.
