Loropetalum chinense ‘cerise charm’ commonly known as the Cerise Charm Loropetalum. It is a broad-leaved evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub or small tree of the Hamamelidaceae or witch hazel family.

The leaves are a dark plum almost black, alternate elliptical, and have asymmetrical bases. The flowers bloom from late March to April, and they will appear in clusters of lightly scented white spidery flowers and generally bloom for 2 to 3 weeks.

Two forms of L. chinense exist; a white- (to pale-yellow-) flowering green-leafed variety and a pink-flowering variety with leaves varying from bronze-red when new to olive-green or burgundy when mature, depending on selection and growing conditions.
