Euonymus japonicus, commonly known as the evergreen spindle or Japanese spindle, is a flowering plant native to Japan, Korea, and China. It is prized for its dense foliage, and if left unpruned, it can reach up to 26 feet tall.

This evergreen shrub has oval leaves with finely serrated margins. The flowers are inconspicuous and greenish-white. In autumn, the orange fruit hangs below the flaring pink seed coverings.
