Chamaecrista fasciculata, also known as the Partridge Pea, is an herbaceous annual or short-lived perennial that occurs in a variety of habitats, including scrub and sandhill in north Florida. It has bright yellow flowers from early summer until the first frost.

The leaves consist of 10 to 15 pairs of small, narrow leaflets that are somewhat delicate to the touch. Attracting mostly butterflies and long-tongued bees with its flowers from late spring through late fall​​. It is a pioneer plant that fixes nitrogen in the soil, favoring newly disturbed ground and is considered an important honey plant in the region​.
