Yucca filamentosa, usually known as the yucca or Adam’s Needle and Thread, is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae. It is native to the southeastern United States and is an evergreen shrub that usually grows up to 10 feet tall.

Usually trunkless and multisuckering with a head of 30 inches long, filamentous, blue-green. Strappy leaves. It is disguised from other yucca species by the white thready filaments along the leaf margins. The flower stem may be up to 10 feet tall and bears masses of pendulous cream flowers in the early summer.
