Punica granatum (Wonderful Pomegranate)
Punica granatum (Wonderful Pomegranate)

The Punica Granatum is commonly known as a pomegranate-bearing deciduous shrub in the family Lythraceae. It grows up to 33 feet tall and is rich in symbolic and mythological associations in many cultures.

The pomegranate is thought to have originated from Afghanistan and Iran before being introduced and exported to other parts of Asia, Africa, and Europe.

The pomegranate, a shrub or small tree that can grow to 33 ft tall, is a symbol of resilience and endurance. It has multiple spiny branches and is long-lived, with some specimens in France surviving for 200 years. The flowers are bright red and 1 1/4 diameter with three to seven petals. Some fruitless varieties are grown for the flower alone.
