Galphimia gracilis, a species in the genus Galphimia of Malpighiaceae, is native to Eastern Mexico. It is widely cultivated in warm regions worldwide, often under the joint names gold shower or shower-of-gold, slender gold shower, or sometimes thryallis.

In G. gracilis, many flowers of a dense inflorescence are open at once, and the petals are 1/2 inch long and 1/3 inch wide. The petals will fall as the fruit matures.
