Juniperus chinensis (Chinese Juniper)

Juniperus chinensis, known as the Chinese juniper, is a species of plant in the cypress family Cupressaceae. It is native to China, Myanmar, Japan, Korea, and the Russian Far East. It grows up to 20 metres tall and is a variable coniferous evergreen tree or shrub.

The Chinese juniper is admired for its aesthetic appeal in gardens and is notable for its resistance to harsh conditions, making it a valuable species for preventing soil erosion. It’s used in traditional Chinese medicine and is believed to treat a variety of ailments, and its wood is aromatic, often used in chests and closets to repel moths.
